Beirut Room Club

As of 2017, Lebanon is witnessing a boom in the electronic nightlife scene. This club is situated on a rooftop warehouse in a prominent industrial area that turns into a party destination every weekend. The design is inspired by the traditional Chinese opium cafés with simplistic Japanese minimalism. The performer is set at the center of the space, facing the dancefloor, leading the backstage. The audience is exposed on both their sides to four tall light installations that mimic the emblem wielding far eastern army banners. They delimit three lounges between them on each side, creating a sense of privacy for the reserved zones that resembles opium café private rooms. At only 34cm higher than the dancefloor, the central DJ remains humble, close to his listeners, creating the ultimate interactive clubbing experience, rather give out an overly glorious presence.
